Breakfast is an important meal around here and on busy mornings we chug it down in a shake! But these are no ordinary shakes- these are MAINE MADE, baby! Everything in it was grown right here in our lovely state. Check it out-
The ingredients for a Maine Breakfast Shake! Use what you have.
Kale, tomatoes and a cucumber came from our garden and add some good nutrients!
Maine Grains Cracked Oats!
The whole milk came from Amy at Crooked Face Creamery! Their Jersey cows produce some delicious milk, I separate the cream and make butter (you also get buttermilk!).
The local honey is from Ellsworth Perkins, it’s damn good!
Fresh blackberries from our friends at Farmer Sean’s in Charleston! Dustin thinned our blackberry patch last fall and they didn’t bounce back for this year!
Wild Maine Blueberries from Worcester’s Blueberries in Sebec…I should have bought more when these were in season!
Start layering your ingredients!
I push the limits and pack as much in as possible!
That’s a healthy breakfast!
I added the grains uncooked, but I’d suggest steaming them to soften them up a little.
